Need help from the MID-A family~
So i recently sold/traded my car to someone in MD. MOCO to be precise. He said he's having a lot of trouble getting this thing inspected in MD and i have no idea why... I thought PA state inspection and emissions were bad, but i guess MD is worse.
Anyways it has a vented oem Hood and he said that that wouldn't pass...
It has slotted/drilled rotors and said that it wouldn't pass because of that...
said it wouldn't pass with a j's racing test pipe and the invidia exhaust. said it would be too loud to pass MD inspection
so i have no idea how true this is or if he should just go to another mechanic
also if anyone knows a different mechanic he should go to please let me know so i can point him in the right direction

Yea the rotors and pads are brand new.... maybe 100 miles on em. I don't see how this is illegal since higher end cars have drilled rotors from factory.... hood i don't see how that would be an issue either.
test pipe i see as it could be but if it doesn't throw a CEL i don't see an issue. I don't know how in depth they go with the inspections in MD, but in PA it's a pretty straight forward and fast thing once a year.... check tires, brakes, rotors, lights, emissions, suspension, and that's about it.

I would have expected the buyer of the car to know what will and what will not pass a state inspection in the state he expects to register the car in.

The exhaust parts fail in MD, the brakes are OK. The hood can be failed if you get a dick of an inspector. MD inspection is brutal compared to most states. PA is one of the easiest there is.
