Default Need a little help

So I'm living in NOVA right now (Manassas specifically) and my car has started to make a burning smell. I'm not exactly sure where it's coming from and I'm not sure what to do to fix it. Does anyone know of a good shop I can take it to that won't screw me over?

Maybe u ran over a plastic bag and got stuck under the exhaust? Check that first.

def would recommend jacking up the car and just doing a glance over to make sure nothing has gotten itself stuck on it (like bags, carcasses, etc). could you describe the smell or location of it?

unfortunately, I cant be of much use, as I don't have access to a lift (not being a tech at a strict dealership sucks). If you can confirm that its def coming from the motor, then I'd try out sportscarshop. they have a few post in this subforum and are located in sterling. I have no personal exp with them, but a few members seemed pleased by their work

It' almost smells like burning rubber. I did a bit of poking around but haven't gotten underneath. It seems like its running fine but that smell is terrible. It only seems to smell when I'm sitting still if that helps.

So after getting under it and doing some searching it looks like a pin hole leak in the oil filter has been spraying oil underneath the car. Looks like it's going to be an easy fix after all.
