Default Ventilation selector not working! Please Help

Hi all,

I'm hoping all you experts can help me out. I've recently purchased an 05 S2K which I'm loving but the ventilation selector (dial with vent/floor/defrost etc) does not direct the air properly. It seems as though it's permanently stuck on vent/floor. The dial does activate the A/C once you change it to defrost, but the airflow never changes. So it seems as though the selector is sending some info. This is quite annoying as my feet end up boiling on cooler nights and on cooler mornings it takes forever to defrost my windshield!

I'm wondering if there are any ideas out there. I'm not sure if this is a major or minor issue as I have no idea how the system works! I'm semi-handy but really don't know this car.

Any and all help is appreciated. Thanks,
redsands

Check fuses, check wiring/selector, check solenoids.

I've had the servo motor that directs airflow go bad on mine. It wouldn't go to face or face/feet position. It's under the dash on the driver side near the center. Look under there with a flashlight and see if it's moving at all. The part is around 40 bux so not too expensive to fix.

Thanks for the replies! So it's kinda funny, but I happened to be doing a DRL install at the same time I was trying to figure this out, and during the DRL install I noticed that there was a small wiring harness that was not plugged in near the center console on the driver's side. I simply plugged it in thinking it probably should be plugged in and didnt think about it until today! I ran out to my car and tested the vents and sure enough it's working perfectly now. I'm glad it was such an easy fix but it makes me wonder why it was disconnected in the first place...

Thanks again,
redsands
