Default NEED SERIOUS HELP! PLEASE

Hi guys,

I just picked up this 01 s2k with 91xxx bout 2 months ago. i drove my car to work last Friday, while i was driving CEL came on. When i got home i did the obd scanner and it's showing p1457. So i went online and did some research and came up with gas cap thing. so i erased the code went for a little drive and cel never came back on but i noticed the car was stuttering a little, So i thought it's nothing serious. The next morning i started my car i got this rough idle and exhaust poopin noise. So i went for a little ride, my car drives like crap looks like the car is losing power and the cel came back on. I got home plug in the obd scanner and came up with this:

P0302 - cylinder 2 misfire detected
P0304 - cylinder 4 misfire detected
P0301 - cylinder 1 misfire detected
P0303 - cylinder 3 misfire detected
P1399

To all the s2k gurus in Mid-A, i need some your help or advice. What do i need to do to fix this problem? I suck @ fixing car, basically only know how to change oil. Also is it safe to drive the car like that? this is the only transport i got have to travel bout 3 miles a day to work.

Any help is greatly appreciated

Will

If it was one cylinder I would start with bad coil but all of them?? Have you posted this in Under The Hood, yet?

I don't say this but i think something fishy happened. It's odd to me that your gas cap was on incorrectly and then you have misfiring problems i hope some a hole in put something in your gas tank.

That's not what it was supposed to say, i wrote that from my drips using the talk to text thing... it'd new to me. I don't wish that upon anyone ever... its sounds fishy to me, like its possible it could have happened.

G L. I hope this is not the case.

Have you been driving it hard previous to this occurrence?

Just throwing it out there. Could be a MAP issue. Simple fix, common problem that causes a lot of weird issues. Start with the free fixes before you waste $ and time.

There is an entire thread about misfires in UTH. Basically, there are a ton of different things that can lead to the codes you're getting (bad gas is a possibility). I'd have a read, and go from there.

Here ya go: https://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=659930

And good luck!

with TopGear and Insert Name, as there are a lot of reasons your car can throw those codes.

I understand, thanks a lot for the info guys. Hopefully just spark plugs and coilpacks. I have a friend that used to own an s ran in to the same problem, he told me he just replaced coilpacks and spark plugs will do the job.
