The car I had a deposit on was sold. As a result, I may be forced to take one with ~80 test drive miles. Would y'all worry about such mileage? What about a test driver who VTec'ed it?

i wouldn't have any concerns. any engine problems would probably be covered under warranty.

The one I just bought had 111 on it. I wouldn't worry if the VTEC kicked in a few times either. Try using that as a bargaining tool if it really bothers you.

Personally, I'd pass on one that had 80 miles. As far as I'm concerned, it's a demo at that point. Knowing what I know now about the break in procedure (wait until 600 miles) I'm sure that this one was VTECd on one of its runs. I'd demand a bunch of cash off, or wait for the next "new" one.

Just my $.02.

Yeah, tell the dealer you want a discount because it's not what you were told to begin with!!

I guess I'm anal, but I agree with you, DaveZ. I want one with less than 2 miles on it. Do they test them in Japan at all pre-shipping?

I'm sure the car would be fine, will have a warrenty, but they deffinatly should come down on the price, if they won't then wait for a true virgin.

if you had a deposit on the car, how did they sell it? they can't sell that and offer you one with 80 or so miles.. isn't that bait and switch?

The car they were going to sell me was at another dealer. It was sold before my dealer processed the order. If they had offered me that one, there is no way I would settle for some test driver.
