I have a good chance of scoring a new job in Alexandria, VA and was wondering if anyone could recommend some places in the DC metro area that I can look at for renting. I have a pregnant wife, 2 dogs, and a bunch of stuff - so I am looking to rent a house or townhouse (or maybe a BIG apt). I've lived in a very urban area for the past 8 years and loved it, but I am thinking about moving back out into the burbs. Any recommendations for fairly affordable areas near public transportation? I heard MD might be a good place to look or further west/southwest of DC...?
