still brings chills.....

i don't know if all stations are doing this but EITM had moments of silence just after 9 for the first plane, right about now for the 2nd one, and one after 10 for the 3rd plane....it helps keep it in the memory

it's funny, no matter how many years go by, it still feels like it was just yesterday. and i still remember sitting on my couch getting ready to go to class.

I was actually listening to them that fateful morning. Diane always does the news stuff. You could her disbelief when reporting it as I pulled into the work parking lot. Once inside, I immediately glued myself to the television. It wasn't until noon that we were able to close the center. I had started running with the fire department that summer and was enrolled in fire fighting school at the time.

Sad part is that it takes such a tragedy to unite people. If we could continue treating each other like we did the day after... well, who knows how much better or changed our lives would be.

For a few months in 1999, I used to work in the Bankers Trust building(Duetsche Bank now) directly across the street from the North Tower. I took the train from Queens to get to the station right underneath the WTC everyday. It was such a lively place!! buzzing with activity all the time!!

Even though it's regaining it's buzz around the area, it's still a somber feeling for me everytime I visit Lower Manhattan.
