Default Newbie question time!

Ok, now that I've had a couple days to get settled into my S2000, I've got a couple questions.

1) The car didn't come with a manual, I've got one on order and the dealer I bought it from is going to reimburse me for the cost of it, but in the mean time, the weather is supposed to get fairly warm this weekend and I want to take the hard top off. Do i need to do anything besides unhook the back two latches, the front two latches and lift? or is that it?

2) What's the "EPS" light for on the dash? (Mine's not lit up or anything, I just see it on during the initial turn on when all the lights light up)

3) Does anyone have any reccomendations for local (Richmond area) Car Audio shops for install? I'm specifically looking for someone who can wire up my dash controls to an aftermarket deck, as well as install a deck I own, and an Amp/Components to be purchased from them (and possibly install rear speakers bought from lucid)

1) not sure about the hard top

2) Electronic Power Steering, just to let u know it's activated

3) Dash controls, check the boards. many people have had things installed that allowed the control of the head unit via a remote and IR sensor installed by the aftermarket radio.

Yeah, I've seen the adapters for the IR control, just don't feel comfortable installing it myself, or know where to mount the IR lens.

Make sure also that you unplug the wiring for the hardtop defroster (if it's plugged in). It is located right over your LEFT shoulder.

as far as audio, depending on what headunit you have, you shoudl be able to find an adapter on the board to make it work. and for installing the amp and headunit, i would be more than happy to help you, i did my own custom install including building the box. the headunit should only take about 10 mins, and maybe 15 mins on each speaker, rears are a piece of cake as well.

Awesome, thanks for the offer! I have the Alpine 7893. Is there any way to have the controls hard wired into it? or is IR the only option? any reccomendations on components/rear speakers/amp?

i would have to double check, but im pretty sure you can get the adapters for the controls for the alpine. as far as component reccomendations, i prefer diamond. ive got the diamond HEX 6.5s and they sound great, there are also diamond 4.5s available for the rears that will fit. some other good components are focals, or even possibly memphis. it all depends on what you are looking to spend. for an amp, i would reccommend memphis studio series because they are small and sound great. i have a phoenix gold that is a little bit bigger, but if you arent worried about space, then it does good. also, precision power makes some really good small amps.

No offense, but did you check the secret compartment? I thought I didn't have one (manual) either until someone on the board told me about the s.c and sure nuff it was right in there.
