No decibel limit for vehicles in VA
I am pretty sure MD has a noise law on the books, it covers everything from cars, trucks, motorcycles to boats. They use decibel meters to measure, that is a real killer for my Harley since I run straight pipes, especially when I go through a tunnel or under a bridge and like to rev the engine.
Will have to look for the exact wording of the law.
From the Harley Handbook - LOUD PIPES SAVE LIVES.

I think the Loud Pipes Save Lives thing is actually law in most states, I think Motorcycles get away with whatever they want DB wise... but I could be wrong.
I'll have to research MD's laws, if it is a db level law, that would be perfect. If I ever get a fixi it ticket, just pop in the silencer go to the baracks.... and viola!
