This is an S2000-only event.

DATE AND START TIME: Sunday, August 21, 2005 at 9 AM (meet at 8:30 AM)

PLACE: Sheetz Gas Station, corner of Routes 15 and 55 in Haymarket, VA

NOTES (from George and Deb):

Take Exit 40 off I-66W then south for less than 1/4 mile on 15 on the left. It takes me ~45 minutes to get there from Bethesda.

Be fully fueled and ready to drive at 9 AM. Bring radios (and spares if you have them, for those who need one).

At the most Western point of the drive we will be near 81 and 55. People can bail out and take 81 to 66 and 66 back to town. We can make that the end point of the drive (about 90 miles and 2.5 hours).

Make a Left on 55 instead of a right from Rt 678. I will re post the directions ASAP.

The rest of the route will be considered optional and will end up on Rt 7 near Leesburg.

Rt 211 in Sperryville and over Thronton Gap is heavily patrolled because of all the sportbikes that ride there. I AM NOT SPEEDING in this area.

We will need to drive well spaced out and act responsibly.

If you live in VA and don't have a front tag you could get pulled over...we don't want that. The cops are mainly focused on sportbikes but I imagine a gaggle of S2000's will attract attention.

I'm out of state from 11th-15th, but if its not one of those days I'll be there!

 

I should hopefully be able to make it.

 

I wouldn't mind doing the same route again since I never got to run the 2nd half ...

As long as I don't already have something planned for that date, count me in!

 

I didn't either, so this time we are starting with the second half, which I guess in reverse will be different.

I'm thinking August 28th. I know some of you can't make a Sunday, but it is really better in terms of traffic. Might be a bit cooler by then - haha.
