NoVA Tour October 9th.
Sounds like we'll get a good turnout.
We test ran the route this past Sunday....and good thing we did. Turned out that some of the roads turned to dirt so we had to find alternatives. The alternatives were VERY, very good roads. The "technical" roads will be highlighted on the route. Lots of blind corners, blind hills, and combinations of both. Lot's of potential for "offs" if you overdrive, so I recommend to take it easy. If you ever want to go back and drive more aggressively, that's up to you.
Get gas early. There are NO gas stations for the first 130 miles or so. Also...no places to eat, so bring a bottle of water and some snacks.
There were intersections that were pretty sudden, and/or tricky. Those will be noted in the directions.
There are a few sections that are pretty "mellow" and straight, so you'll get to relax.
Pray you don't get stuck behind a "slow" vehicle on the fun twisty parts. It's torture.
No major highways involved. No 95. No 66. The closest things to a highway will be route 7, 211, and 50, but that's all pretty far West so there won't be any traffic.
We'll pass though "wine country" so if anyone is into wine, they might want to check out a winery or 2.

I was really looking forward to this, but unfortunately, I can't make it since I've got an all-day work party to get my brother's house ready before his wedding. Oh well. I'm sure you guys will have a ton of fun.

OK...are you going to put a list of interested peeps in the first post? If so, include me. If anyone wants to caravan down with me, I'm planning to go the back way to Woodbridge. Route 123 probably. Can't stand 95.
So, no group leaders? Looks like we just get directions and head out, staying in a group as much as we want - right? I'm asking, because I'm sure we will have a combo of aggressive and moderate drivers.
