I would love to go this year except it's still tax season. Life of an auditor.

It's right at the TN/NC border. It's like an 11 mile perfect twisty road. I've always wanted to go, and I'm seriously considering going in April

It's on the TN/NC border. It's a stretch of public highway enjoyed by many enthusiasts that travel from all over the country. It's mos known for a section that has 318 curves in 11 miles.

Google Video search for "Tail of the Dragon", "Deal's Gap", "US 129" and you'll get the idea.

We stay in a resort called Fontana Village and we pretty much own the place while we're there because there are so many of us.

There are police there from time to time mostly to enforce reasonable activity. This means you can probably get away with going a bit above the speed limit but:

STAY IN YOUR LANE!!!

You will get a new one torn out of you if you come around a corner on the wrong side of the road. The biker's ESPECIALLY do not appreciate this behavior. It doesn't matter if you can see ahead of you or not. Our cars were designed for the twisties not to straighten them out. And this is not a track, so nor is it the place to practice your lines.

Let's see what else...

- There's a raffle for a supercharger this year. Don't bother Lewis is going to win with the 1 ticket he'll buy.
- Saturday night the whole place is one big ass party
- Don't leave yourself open to compromising photos.
- Don't try to keep up with the NYM guy with the license plate "x drift x" cause you won't
- Image gallery from last year here: http://www.e3opian.net/images -> S2000 -> Wake The Dragon

Thats all I can think of for now...

Oh.. one more: There's a whole subforum for it. Go here for lots of infos and registration when it opens. https://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.php?showforum=49

Oh and whoever's car breaks the most this spring inherits the fuzzy dice of shame from Skip for the year.

The birth of a tradition.

And the other one would be for the guy that gets a ticket every time he's been to the Dragon- speeding or not!

Most important part about the trip right there. That and of course, bringing a toothbrush.

Best time to run the Dragon- before 0700 Sunday morning. That's another one of my traditions.
