Default OH NOOooooooOOOOoooooo!

190,000+ miles...

Started car this am & motor was shuddering something awful . Let it idle a bit...in case it was 'just the cold'. Kept shuddering persistently. Gently reved motor up 1K rpms over idle & held it there for ~ 10 sec, then let it drop to idle again. Still shuddering.

...then blinking CEL .

Obviously the motor was performing such that I fully expected a CEL to throw. But I know 'blinking' = bad .

Gonna have to see what's what...but I suspect my wallet will really feel it this time.

If ya'll love me at all...keep your eyes peeled for AP1 motor swap options. Toss any ideas here you want (Stroker, etc.). This is an open forum post for thoughts...

Thanks

- Dave

Its could be just a bad coil or sparkplugs . I wouldn't worry about putting a motor in it just yet. Blinking cel means misfires.

w1ngman knows all too well about blinking CELs.

I hope it's a simple fix buddy...

If you have the original coils, they have most likey gone bad, just like SWIFT suggested.

Don't drive the car with a blinking CEL though...

As for coils...agreed. There are easily a number of non-high-$ possibilities. Just the idea of flatbedding the car 'into town' (40+ miles) to diagnose makes me shudder.

But then again, moparacker probably wins the 'long haul' award
