oil pressure gauge install?
i'm trying to install an oil pressure gauge and i was wondering from anyone who has done this before if there is a way to tap the sensor into the oil pan with out tapping into the pan (making a hole in it) any advice would be AWESOME!
Many of the vendors sell a block of aluminum (sandwich plate) that can be put between the block and the oil filter. You remove the oil filter, spin on the sandwhich plate - and now the oil filter just spins onto the sandwich plate. They usually seem to have three tapped holes, two for an oil cooler and one for an oil temperature sending unit. Simply plug the holes that you don't want/need to use.
Do a google search on the phrase oil cooler sandwich plate and you'll see a bunch of examples.
I've never seen nor used one of these myself, so I can't vouch for what kind or problems kind of thing may cause. It does look like a quick method to getting a place to get oil pressure and oil temerature. Perhaps some folks in the under the hood forum might have more insight.
Good luck, and let us know if you go this route.

i think what i am going to end up doing it getting an oil relocation kit, it actually sounds like the plate you were speaking of with the additional holes so i can hook up the oil sending unit and the oil pressure gauge. i thought about the t link put it was going to be hard to find one with a male and 2 female ends. and plus the stupid gauge plug is longer then you think so that would have caused a major problem.
