I'm a fan of grinding them down first if doing anything but black.

Edit to previous post: We actually used Black High Temp paint

IIRC is was about 3-4 coats of 1600* flat black followed by 4-5 coats of 800* semi gloss black. Everything is holding up great minus a small rock chip in one caliper

i used black high temp grille paint on mine. i sprayed as many coats as i could get out of one can which was between 4-6 and it has held up nicely so far. i like them painted black because it doesnt take attention away from your rims like red would. black looks clean enough yet barely noticeable if you know what i mean.

Using G2 caliper paint, I painted my brackets red and the caliper black

After one day at the track

** Damn it! I can't find the pictures of my caliper bracket fading from dark red to burgundy to black.

No paint will hold up to tracking- it will burn, but not necessarily peel. Not sure about powdercoating. If you use paint, use black. Better for resale, too.

I'm curious to know how powder coating holds up... unless you use a high-temp mix, and those don't come in too many colors (red is the hardest to get in high-temp).
I had my calipers and brackets powdercoated a Hi-Temp black. I've done 2 full trackdays with no issues.

You are right, the Hi-Temp colors are lacking. I did not do a clear coat over the black.

I do like how the semi-gloss hi-temp black "hides" the caliper and does not draw attention to the caliper.

Here is what Hi-temp BBQ paint will look like after a couple of trackdays.

Been wondering about the 1,200/1,600 degree stuff from HVT... I wanted to do a few coats of black (e3, already smoothed ), place the S2000 stickers on there, a few coats of red, peel the stickers off, then a few coats of clear.

speaking of the S2000 caliper decals, is there any way of getting them anymore?
