Default Perceptions...

Over my 90 days or so on S2Ki I have had the opportunity to meet many different people here

Of course, I have had different perceptions of people that were totally different than when we finally met in person - all turned out good . I've also been right on with my perceptions of people AndyP for one

Comments by C45P312, moparacker, dave22, tenblade2001, and Quik S2K (to list a few) have made me realize that we all have different perceptions and some of these are quite funny.

IE:

I was chatting with Quik S2K on AIM last night and had to explain to her that Hatty Matty wasn't a woman

Some people (myself included at first) think tenblade is a very serious person that shouldn't be messed with - I guess they see that he is a Surgeon and probably mature and well to do

I've spoken to a few vendors and other members on the phone and they have told me how their perception of me was totally different.

I'm curious as to how everyone else's experiences have been, and I think this thread could be some fun.

The small print: I hope that this thread can stay peaceful, or I will trash it at the first hint of hurt feelings. Of course, it's a Poindexter thread and will have difficulty staying on topic

I'm not even gonna post in here if you're gonna trash it...I don't want two threads like Krispy Kreme.

Are you SURE about this one??

just teasin'

I think my biggest wrong perception was of North9586, who I just thought would be some little snot nosed punk with an S, but the stuff that went down at SnowFlake rally and HIN Philly and afterward really made me realize he's just one of the guys, just not old enough for pubes

My FIRST impression, and/or perceptions, is that EVERY single S2000 owner is unique, and interesting. I have only met a few, of the many, in the area, but I have not met a single one that I have not liked instantly.

Alex, Tenblade (Steve) didn't come across the same way with me. Hell if you didn't know he was a doctor you would think he was an average guy. To me that is what he is, very likeable, friendly to others, funny and has one FANTASTIC LOOKING LADY FRIEND.... I won't tell you my first impressions of her...lol J/K ....... She was very sweet, and instantly warm, and fun to talk to. I loved seeing a lady with the enthusiasm, and the knowledge, for cars that she has. Fun to just be around her.

Dave is a NUT, but he reminds me of ME! only a 1,000 years younger. Alex, you are a Senator in waiting, but with a touch of fun thrown in. Don't change, don't conform, you have the right attitude, and a natural charm, that will do you well in the years to come.

To the others I have met, thanks for being kind and fun.

Mark

Oh, stop, sniff, sniff, I'm getting all misty-eyed!!!! Such a sweet thread. I have not met a single S2k member that I didn't instantly like (except Poindexter -- he's such a snob) j/k. He's supercool. I'd like to hook him up with my daughter -- but she's all IN LOVE with one of the Va. Tech dudes. Chixrule is a living doll (and her hunky boyfriend isn't bad either -- there should be a tv show about what he does and he should be the star wait a minute -- there is . . . and they have that ugly Noah Wyley starring -- can we start a petition to get Steve put in his place??? I've been privileged to meet quite a few of you guys -- (and I guess I'm the oldest . . . but who's counting). I remember being scared to death at the first meet -- not knowing what to expect at all. With the first handshake, I felt totally at ease. Anyway -- my preconceived notions about all of you were totally off-base. You're all the brightest, neatest, kindest bunch of high-iq-d motorheads I've ever seen. +1 and I love every meet and look forward to many more. Oh, and one more thing -- HattyMatty is not a girl?????? Man -- that shot one of my preconceived notions down.
