Default Raddle From Beneath the Shifter.

I replaced my clutch about a month back ( stock for stock) and got it back with a rattle coming from beneath the shifter. Took it back and was told it was the driveshaft. I'd rather not have to pay 1450.00 at honda for a new one.

If you can, let me put it up on the lift, and have a gander before you start spending money on unnecessary parts.

...... Never heard of a rattle coming from the drive shaft. usually (unless they broke it) drive shafts cause a vibration. Any way you ca. Post a video of the noise?

Could be loose bolts. Or not the drive shaft at all.

Someone forgot to tighten some bolts. Happens a lot on Clutch jobs.

if you paid a shop for the work, they need to fix it.

You would be surprised how many people neglect to use a torque-wrench on any work. Pure laziness not wanting to look up recommended torque in the book or just think they can "feel" the needed torque. Other is just not having a torque-wrench or want to lay out for one.

$20 says its something loose. Just hope its not going to involve you pulling the transmission back out.

I agree. I have a car at my shop right now that I just had to pull the transmission out of. The guy just had a Stage 2 clutch and lightweight flywheel put in and they didn't torque the flywheel bolts. All 6 sheared off in the crank. I had to drill them out. All the bell housing bolts were finger loose, except two, which already backed out! I hate lazy people.
