When it comes to a paint job, you get what you pay for. If someone says they can do a color change for $2500, walk away.

I've heard good things from Stock or Modified. Fish22 had some work done there.

What you pay for is the hours of prep work, painting is easy and quick. I put probably 150 plus hours in the last one, cutting an molding in overfenders, repairs (dents dings), warping doors, fitting front bumper, fitting rear bumper, deleting ant. 2 stage pearl paint plus jams, wetsand and buff. Thats a lot o work.

I've got nothing but praise for Stock or Modified. I've had numerous cars and car parts painted by Joey and continue to go back down there for paint work even though I now live in MD.

If you want good paintwork, you're not going to get it cheap. You want cheap, buy Krylon.

Good products cost good money. You can't expect a cheap paint/clear coat to last, and keep its luster.

Just thought I would post this and leave it here:

At the very least, call Rusty for a quote.

Good luck with your search.

Rusty isn't exactly right down the road. I'm sure he does good work, but there are a few shops here local in SoVA that can get the job done.

OP, also check out Elite. They are on your side of the water, with plenty of good reviews.

I haven't gotten anything done to my S2000 by Stocked or Modified, but I've brought all my daily driven cars to them and the work is always on point.

I'm not looking for the cheapest paint job..... >.< i really do appreciate all the advice on this but the original idea of the topic was the colors of the S2k's you see around in the SOVA region so i could be different. I guess my comment about the pretty penny set everyone off =/

Argento Nurburgring Metallic from Ferrari. Its a nice darker grey, with plenty of metallic flake. It will stand out from other S2000's, without screaming for attention.

Or go with Lime from Honda. Its a UK color on the S2000. I like it a lot.

You would like the lime, Cory.

How about the blue of the R390?
Nissan R390

Or a Kameleon paint job or the like? Color samples from House of Kolor
Youtube video of S2000

Now I'm thinking of doing my bodywork sooner rather than later, or changing body kits and getting a really cool paint job.
