roll bar petition
I have been looking into roll bars so I can track the s here on the east coast. I havn't been able to find a single one that will pass a track inspection and not create a potentially deadly situation if a wreck occurs on the city streets(no helmet)
Has anyone petitioned the tracks for a roll bar waiver. Something stating that we take responsibility for injury if a roll over occurs on the track?
I think that with the slowing economy and the dwindleing fields of cars at the tracks they may be inclined to allow use of a petition in leu of a roll bar to get more roadster drivers back to their facilities.
I am just not willing to create a situation where my wife or child may die from head trauma on the street from a simple accident. Most rear half impacts will cause the occupants heads to move laterally and back; that just happens to be where the roll bars vector toward the floor pan. Bad combination.
any ideas?

Part of the problem is that instructors are not going to want to ride in your car if it does not have a roll bar. The OEM hoops are not tall enough for many people.
Too bad most of the rollbars for the S2000 install in front of the OEM hoops.

If you have a rollbar, you should be using harnesses. With harnesses, you will most likely not hit your head on the bar if you are obeying the laws of the road. If you are driving on the street with a rollbar and oem belts, you are rolling the dice. Good luck.

I thought the windshield served as the main roll bar (or crush prevention device if you prefer)

I have koni adjustables on all four courners and espelier springs(I probably mispelled that) and an upgraded front sway, just can't remember what kind. car rides about 1.25in lower than a stock ap1 but smoother than a coworker's stock ap2.
I have the extra money for track time but just am not willing to cut up the interior, cramp the already cramped interior, and increase the risk of death on the street for 3-4 events a year.
