No family Just our short ceremony tomorrow and then the real one south o the border.

Oleg - Are all the tools covered? I have a drill/bits I can bring if necessary. I'm sure you have typical hand tools needed. I do not have a sawzall or grinder.

Ron has an angle grinder (electric) we can use in addition to oleg's air tools. I know i have drill bits around but if you bring them it can't hurt.

I got plenty of drill bits, it's just the bigger diameter one for the bolts that I keep stressing about that I don't have.

Having an extra electric grinder is a good idea, we can do both sides at the same time.

I've just finished installing brake ducts and an oil cooler. Tomorrow is the oil change and diff fluid change....hope oil cooler won't leak (which it probably will ). then some car washing and fender rolling, and I got everything out of the way for saturday!

So question for those that have installed the bar. I started my install tonight. Got all of the interior stuff out except for the bulkhead. Should be one of the easiest things to remove though so not worried.

One of the instructions from Hard Dog says to remove the rear rain trim parts....is that really a necessary step? Are they the black metal pieces that sandwich the top to the actually body of the car? If so what is the purpose of removing them? Is the bar that tight of a fit? I'll be finishing up my install later tomorrow and would love to know before I get that far. Any help would be much appreciated!

On top of finishing my rollbar install I've got a bunch of other things to do tomorrow so I won't be making it up that way. Good luck to you guys! Only took me 2.5 hours to get all the interior stuff out....not too bad if you ask me. I'm hoping it doesn't take any more than another 3-4 hours to finish the install up. Only thing going back in will be the bulkhead so I don't see it taking much longer than that.

Might be a little late tomorrow...decided to do my tranny and diff fluid change about an hour ago. Got to the diff, drained the oil and I couldn't/can't find my 23 wrench. Will have to buy one tomorrow morning and finish this, then I'll head over to Oleg's. sigh*

I never did anything that I remember with removing rain trim parts. I can't even think of anything that would match that description.

You've got all the interior out, which is a good start. Make sure to have an extra set of hands available tomorrow because you'll need it handling the actual bar in and out of the car (which you'll most likely need to do several times) as well as threading the nuts on the mounting bolts.

Otherwise, make sure you have some expanding foam to fill the hole you cut in the rear wheel wells. I used the foam designed for larger spaces because it dries harder than the small gap foam. Let it dry and then shape to wheel well. I used a truck bed liner in rattle can to seal the foam. The good thing about the bed liner is that you can build up the thickness through multiple coats, which leaves the rear wheel well looking semi-stock. Not perfect, but not really noticeable either. Also, won't allow any moisture in.

Alison, I'll bring my drill bits but still not 100% that I'll have the right size. If you want to be sure stop by home depot in the morning. Otherwise we'll work with what I've got.

Jason, no worries. I'm sure we'll find the right size.. and if not, there is a harbor freight down the street. as for the foam part - I was advised to leave it out, and to allow a retighten after the first track event or two - and then foaming it in?
