The safety that never was...
If I were a 'skins fan, I wouldn't be braggin' too much. Your team didn't win on their own merit. In fact, it's pretty sad how they failed to get the ball into the end zone on their first series.
Personally, I believe the missed 2-pt conversion played zero part in the outcome of the game. Those that argue that it did are plain ignorant. That happened in the first quarter and the Cowboys had all game and the lead at one point. At the half it was tied.
Why did the 'boys lose? It sure as heck wasn't because of the rookie QB.
It wasn't because they couldn't run the ball. It was penalty after penalty after penalty. This is two years in a row that the Dallas organization has given Gibbs a freebie. That loss last year in Dallas was Pop Warner-style, just as today was.
Dallas has two cancers: TO and Vander-whatever. Period. End of discussion. Washington, on the other hand, just plain stinks. I feel bad for Joe Gibbs. He definitely was needed to take all the heat of Snyder- one of the worst owners in the NFL, however, his time has passed. And that is sad, because it is a direct reflection of the big-business mentality of the NFL stewards.
In the end, Washington won. Dallas won. The standings will only show those stats. Despite that, 'skins fans really have zero reason to hang their hat on anything that took place today.

^Sorry! I am Cowboys fan since the days of Tom Landry and Roger Staubach. By the way, back to the original point by FFSkip, I thought it was kind of funny to sweep that under the rug as well. I wasn't sure if that was the right call but Parcells didn't challenge it.

Funny, growing up, I hated the Cowboys. I was a Raiders fan in the 70's because Kenny Stabler was a left-handed QB.
I lived halfway between Cleveland and Pittsburgh. I didn't fit in too well.
That's also why I liked the Reds during that same time.Anyway, I'll be interested to see whether Sportscenter takes another look at the non-safety. For the record, that wrongful call is not what cost the Cowboys the game... it was the Cowboys.

I was at the game today with my friend who's a life-long Cowboys fan, and I've been a Cowboys fan for the past 20 years or so as well. We both concluded that the Cowboys shot themselves in the foot more than half a dozen times, starting with the first several false starts in a row, and ending with the facemask penalty after the blocked kick at the end of the game. The Redskins didn't win this game. Dallas lost it.
