So who is your team Skip??!! Or do you just reserve the right to stir the pot whenever any team loses
To answer yours and Peter's question, I don't have a set favorite team like I do in baseball(Astros). I've lived all over the United States and am suffering through the NFL's current "play-for-the-highest-bidder" synopsis. Accordingly, I root for certain individuals.

I like Parcells. I like Gibbs. Don't like Belichik(spell?), but he is good. I think Brady is overrated just as Joe Montana was/is. The Niners were so stacked full of talent during that reign, it wasn't even fair. Offense, defense, coaching. Btw, I never liked the guy before George seiffert... you know, the guy who created the West Coast offense(can't believe I can't remember).

I miss the days days when my thugs(Raiders) played with all heart and some dirty tricks, too. My Flyers in the 70's-80's were the same way. Guess it had to do with me being diminutive during those years- I liked the fact that I associated myself with goons.

But back to football, I didn't even participate in the fantasy football this year. I have NFL Sunday Ticket and only yesterday had the chance to watch an entire game. My heart just isn't into football anymore.

Oh, and if trying to have dialogue that might provoke thought is not allowed here, I'll gladly leave.

I still can't believe the network never replayed the safety awarded to the Redskins. It was so obvious from the one angle that Julius Jones' knee never touched the ground before the ball crossed over the goal line.

My beef isn't with the outcome of the game- how bizarre was that finish? I watched the halftime show for highlights and they still didn't pick up on it.
Just wanted to quote my unedited first post and reason for starting the thread, because I know we all tend to lose sight of things when talking about things we like/dislike.

They made Cincy look stupid. I can't remember... why did they get rid of the QB after winning the Super Bowl? They don't even need an offense with that defense.

I'm not a Skins fan and definitely not a Cowboys fan but I'm glad the Skins won just for the fact that people in the DC Area are a little bit nicer when they win. Fuckin Assholes

Skip and Co.,

Our team and season have been a complete joke and we 'Skins fans know it. However, ultimately, we just got another 'W' against the Dallas Cowboys. S-hit on our parade all you want...we still beat those hicks and if it's the last game we win all season I'm still happy about it.

For cryin' out loud, I'm going to be buying "Hooked-on-Phonics" in bulk this year as Christmas presents for all you illiterates.

Bill is correct though... people in the area are nicer after a 'skins win, even if it's only for one day.

It was so funny at the end...I was about to walk out of the room when Dallas went for that chipshot of a field goal. The +1 said "Maybe it'll be blocked." I said "No way." Damn if that isn't exactly what happened. I thought the ending was one of the most exciting ever! I loved it!!

Deb, it definitely was wacky. Not as "intriguing" as the Dave Casper fumble-it-all-the-way-to-the-end-zone-and-fall-on-it-for-a-touchdown for the Raiders, which inspired a rule change or the Immaculate Reception by Franco Harris, but it definitely couldn't have been scripted that way.

Fact about the D vs. W game was that the officiating was deplorable. Dallas was holding sooo many times and not called- yes, they should have had closer to 200 yards in penalties instead of just the 150-or-so. That final face mask was a garden variety one, not a "let's-put-your-neck-in-a-halo" type one. Both teams were hindered by calls/non-calls.

Unless someone has info directly related to the "safety that never was," I'm bowing out of this thread. After all, posts might be deleted if they are off-topic.

Typical Jibber jabber of someone who thinks they know everything about the NFL, and cant give credit to a team for winning one game.
