Default seat shaving

hey i just put my sparco evo seat in and like i knew already the bolster hits the door...so i wanted to know if anyone had a grinder or some other tool that i could use that they could help me shave the fiberglass off of the bolster...thanx

where do you live?
Piper Motorsports shaved mine... but they charge alot.

I would think a dremel tool would be fine. You could come look at mine and see exactly where to shave it... but im not around very much

I used a hacksaw blade. Its not a matter of "shaving" its more like removing about an inch of material. dremel w/ a cutoff would be much easier, just don't do it w/ the seat in the car. LOTS of dust.

its easiest to remove the fabric, mount the seat in the car and mark how much needs removed. remember the fabric will also be there, so leave a bit of a gap. Also don't forget to have the buckle installed. I forgot the first time, and when I did the final install the buckle caused the seat to be over farther than it was originally, thus it dug into the door panel.
