Default Seats stolen

Last week, I took my hardtop off to tint the back window. Two nights later, my top was slashed and my seats were stolen. I call the Prince William Police and and file a report, only to hear them say that there's no point for them to look at the car because there's really nothing they can do (which is understandable, but still). So I call Nationwide and file a claim.

Finally get a call from a lady, Amy Stafford, in VA Beach on Sat. and she tells me to bring it to a body shop of my choice ... So i call around and research body shops and give her a call back and explain to her that the body shops told me they cant do anything with it because its a convertible top and seats and she still tells me to bring it to the body shop i want and give her a call when i decide which shop i want to take it to...I call her and leave a message to tell her I want to take it to Precision...Sunday passes and still no return call. Call her back monday, leave 3 messages, still no return call. I then call the claims office and let them know that she is not returning my calls and they give me a local adjusters number, Richard Enus. So I speak with him briefly and he tells me he'll stop by my house first thing Tuesday and check the car out.

Tuesday comes around and he still doesnt call me. I call him beggning at 10:30 and finally get a hold of him around noon. He tells me that he's at my house now looking over the car and asking the SOP questions. He proceeds to tell me that he will get back to me later on that day and follow up. I dont get a call from him and knowing they close at 4, I give him a call at 3:50 to see if there was any more news. He tells me that he's waiting on a call from someone because "my seats isn't a usual part that can be accessed easily." So he'll call me Wed to follow up.

Wednesday comes and I wait for a call. I wait till 3:45, which is the time i get off, and no answer. I call several more times leaving multiple messages and still no return call from him. The other lady, Amy Stafford, just never even bothered to call back and still has her machines answering. I have no car to drive except for my father's Tahoe, which is killing me on gas prices.

So with all of this going on I'm beginning to question staying with Nationwide. My brothers Dodge 1500 got stolen in D.C. a couple months back and it took him nearly 2 and a half months to get anything from Nationwide. For those who have had their seats stolen in the No. VA region, how long did it take to get everything taken care of because the Tahoe gas price is killing me...

Sorry to hear, but I had Nationwide a while back for my motorcycle accident and they went above and beyond. It is the holiday season so give them a bit of time. Not all claims get squared away immediately.

Sorry to hear that your seats were stolen. I hope that things get sorted out ASAP. When I had my top slashed last year and AGAIN this year, Allstate was very good to me. However, fortunately, my seats weren't stolen either time.

Thanks for the offer Skip, but my friend is probobly going to lend me a seat this weekend, if not i'll just fabricate some mounts for these old civic seats i have laying around...I just cant be driving this Tahoe anymore

I can understand them being busy, but I just wished they would keep me updated, even with crappy news or something...

Happy Thanksgiving everyone.

My Gawd...trust me...I'm fighting with my own insurance company now too...Traveler's...and you just gotta remember...

1) They don't care about you...just your $$$
2) They want to pay as little and wait as long as they can to pay out...
3) They don't care about yo...oh, I covered that one already...

We do our part...we pay our premiums and when something *does* come along...they treat us like sheit...they need to remember (or hell...REMIND THEM...) that we never asked for this to happen...

CRIME SUCKS...as do the insurance companies. Good luck!
