So, I checked out Skyline Drive today.... (Shenandoah National Park)

Excellent day for driving, top up of course! Crisp, cold air for my baby, nice clear skies for my passenger. It was a fantastic drive, right up to the tunnel (coming from the North side of the park). Ice turned us around. But, the 35 some-odd miles we did get to drive were well worth it, since there was almost no traffic. Those that were out were ever so kind as to pull over and let the beautiful car go by. And the park ranger was uber-cool, commenting how he liked the car.

So folks, I'm sure tomorrow (Sunday) will be another day for this beautiful drive if you're up for the first 30 miles from the North Gate (I don't suspect that the ice is going anywhere). It might have only been for a few miles, but trying to pull and uphill climb in the ice was less than what I had in mind for a fun day of driving (rallying, maybe).

Lates all -- a shout out to the Silver S2000 on Rt. 28 North near Dulles Airport. You're the only S2000 I saw today!

Haven't been on Skyline since last May, but it's a great drive any time of the year. Not exactly a high-performance road, but the incredible overlooks make up for that.
I like the Blue Ridge Parkway even better.

Yes, top up!

It's Waaaaaaaaaay too cold for top down, and that's one of my gripes - but hey, it IS winter.

I was more amazed with the fact that there was no traffic, and no po po either, so I was able to enjoy some 'spirited driving'.

I haven't gone down to the Blue Ridge Highway tho -- even Skyline is a bit far for just a drive, but its definetely worth going out for some fun.

The Blueridge Parkway and Skyline Drive is the same road, they just call it the Skyline Drive inside Shenadoah National Park...

As far as where it is, just head west and you will pass over or under it somewhere, it runs from northern Virginia to way down in North Carolina.
