Smart is coming to town!

Not bringing the diesel Smarts here is indicative of how American environmentalism is overly concerned with the appearance of being green. Deisel "sounds" dirty when in reality they're more efficient and put out less CO2 than gasoline engines.
American Greenies loved the EV-1 which was powered by coal and oil burning electric powerplants.
They can't wait for hydrogen powered cars but don't want to hear about how much energy (generated by coal and oil) goes into making the hydrogen.
I'd love to have a diesel Smart ForTwo, or Civic, or Corolla, or Fit...

Don't worry Rob - the diesels are on the way. Our American standards on diesel haven't killed it - just slowed it down.
We should have a diesel Civic in 2009 followed by a possible diesel smart or micro-hybrid smart.
