Update: after some further communication/discussion, additional choices are in the poll.

Hopefully those that have already voted may add choices to the third category of questions, but that might require 'Delete My Vote' and starting over - but I'm not sure if it's possible to enter a new set of votes after a 'Delete My Vote'. Does anyone know?

This sounds fantastic. Can't wait to meet with all the other s2k owners around the area and take a nice drive.

http://youtu.be/oFZCByva8HE I got bored about a year ago and pulled my exhaust off and took a ride this is the result of that ride mind the profanity good times in dunkirk...

Theres a ton of great roads up north ways like chaneyville to lower marlboro to mill branck (maybe mill swamp) then huntingtown rd to cox to wilson to dares beach. or what about dalyrumple rd... the list goes on Calvert has come great driving roads which makes owning an s2000 all the more exciting
dalyrumple is fun but hardesty rd off of dalyrumple is way more fun!! check it out it connects dalyrumple and ponds wood rd.
You know I've never taken hardesty might have to invistigate it one day. Wanna go togue? Lol

SOMD doesn't have the mountains, or roads that parallel the coast closely for miles, so not a wide-area attraction for owners from elsewhere to come here for drives. We who are here know there are still enjoyable roads, so it's up to us to organize our own drives.

If there are suggestions that don't work for this M&D, we'll make an effort to use them in the next ... so keep the suggestions coming ... and come back to this topic after this M&D to offer likes, dislikes, and more suggestions.

Because a couple voters were interested in a shorter overall itinerary, I've added three markers to the map.

(Google Interactive Map)

These are some potential changes - and the time saved for each change:
Option A: Alternative Start, Calvert County Fairgrounds along Rt 231 (not using Stoakley through Barstow Roads) - saves about 12 minutes.

Option B: Staying on Rt 231 then Rt 5 to Bryantown to meet anyone from western SOMD (instead of Aquasco/Woodville/Bryantown Roads) - saves about 14 minutes.

Option C: Anyone who crosses into MD from VA at the Nice Bridge would meet us along Budds Creek Rd (instead of the group going up to Rt 301) - saves about 14 minutes.

Option D: Alternative End #1, at St. Mary's River Watershed Park (instead of going to Point Lookout State Park) - saves about 32 minutes.

Option E: Alternative End #2, at the Island Bar and Crabhouse / Grill (instead of going to Point Lookout State Park) - save about 15 minutes.

If the group as a whole does option D or E, some could still continue on to Point Lookout State Park while those who need to head elsewhere can do so. Or from Option D, some could continue on to Option E, some continue on to Point Lookout State Park, some head elsewhere. (Someone doing both D and E saves only about 5 or 10 minutes for this change, not 32 + 15.) Option E also offers the option of buying a meal and/or seeing a sunset over the Potomac River, and could be indoors if the weather turns poor. (This assumes the restaurant is open in April.)

Other alternatives?

WTOP News?

Not really saying yet, but by the votes so far, I'm guessing the meet and drive won't be April 7 or 8, so likely: 1) the voting will continue past April 4; 2) we'll have a little more time to get the word out.

Also, there could be another M&D in May, SOMD-SMMD, or June that starts in mid or mid-south of SOMD, then swings out and around and ends up closer to Annapolis than our drive in April. Might be more inclusive of owners in the DC area and broadly eastward, as well as take advantage of some of the suggestions for nice-driving roads we're not getting near in April.
