Talking Some cool stuff.....and a S2000!

This is going to be a great year for me

I'll be finishing another degree: BA in History with a minor in Political Science and that is going to affect my whole year. Gifts for the degree include a trip to Costa Rica in July and one to Italy later in the year. Needless to say I'm going to eat up all of my vacation time between those two trips (no DBR '07 ), so I'm going to get rid of the Porsche. Yes, it is sad, but there is a happy ending to my plan.

After the Dragon next week the Porsche goes for sale or trade. I plan to pick up some sort of high-mileage 94 to 98 Toyota Landcruiser that I can pay cash for, and not have a car payment for a few months (at $1,100/mo for the Porsche that will be a nice change). Then I think I will find an AP2 around this time next year at auction.

My weekends have been filled with photography treks lately, and the water is starting to warm up (surfing).....hence the desire for a 4x4 LandCrusher.....something with a few luxuries too

Anyway, the point of this thread is to say that I will be selling my 2007 Cayman S for around $55,000 (For Sale thread to come after the Dragon) and will be getting back into another S2000 down the road

Janet and I were just mentioning names that we have been out of touch with. Very happy to hear about the schooling and chance to travel!

As for an S, buy a beat up one and come tracking with us and your girl!

I won't buy a beat up one, but I will certainly get one in the sub-$20,000 territory so I can track it with no worries

I've been watching AP2's at Manhiem and they seem to be averaging around $18,000 for a 2004 under 30,000 miles right now. If I play my cards right, and can pick one up for around $16,000 at the begging of 2008 I'll probably be able to pay cash for that one too

The modding plan is:

    Call it a day.

Skip - we need to catch up! Once the Porsche is gone and I'm 4x4ing it I plan to head up your way to hit a Wildlife preserve in NOVA - I'll let you know when that gets closer.

It isn't that bad, and pretty cheap for that car - especially since I put $0 down and financed my fees and extended warranties. After 2-3 months of making a higher car payment you get used to it.

The good news is the car is worth a little more than what I owe on it ......yes, being in the car business has its benefits

do you have any ideas for a color? as for the 1100 payment, that isnt bad at all, i would think it would have been higher with 0 down.
