Default ST Wreck at the Dragon

We were exchanging stories about wrecks at the Dragon at the Tint Day last Sunday. One of the guys in my ST1300 club took his bike to the Dragon this year and well... KILLBOY recorded most of the slide. It would appear he bottomed out the suspension on the ST, caught a peg (or something) and just lost it.....

He's ok. Firm believer in ATGATT now!!!!

Well if you going to go down, he did it right, he had the bike leaned all the way over, didnt stand it up, he was looking where he wanted to go, and most importantly he was wearing full gear, including riding pants.

He must have levered it off the ground, he did everything right except enter the Corner too fast

He's fine. He walked away.

Like George said...He was wearing full gear (ATGATT = All the Gear, All the Time).

He's still not sure what levered him, whether it was a peg or something else. I don't think he expected to both the bike out coming into the turn.

..and i agree....he was coming in to it a bit fast....

From the dude who went down...
"
There is a dip in the curve that caused the suspension to load and got me scraping more than I intended. The center stand in the second pic I think. Anyway, the rear tire lifted( a ME880 btw) and the rest is history.
I have a little rash on my left calf mainly because the side zipper on my firstgear pants broke and opened up. The jacket saved my arm and shoulder, I have a silver dollar size hole in the jacket shoulder, interestingly the hard armor underneath wasn't scratched. My boots gloves and helmert have no marks on them.
What really sucked was having to ride the 400+ miles home with a rashed up bike, a really sore leg and wearing sweatpants."

Thank God he was okay. Looks like it could have been much worse

He got lucky as all hell. Glad he's ok - some rash on the bike and a hole in the gear is a small price to pay for not snapping bones!
