yes, but I thought it was close enough

the JL boxes actually sit lower then my box and they have a little less room, so I think a 12 of the same sub should work ok. I'm not going to be terribly anal about it

Is there a way to measure how much space is in my box, it was custom made so I really have no idea how much space it has, other then it can hold 6 quarts of of mobil one with no sub.

See above pictures with packing peanuts.

As for your box and the JL one... The JL one is made of fiberglass so it conforms more to the shape of the tool well. If yours is of MDF, you will lose some of the avaialble space down there. That said, just because your box sits higher doesn't automatically equate to more volume.

Oh I know...MDF is straight lines instead curved so your way is MUCH better, but I did what I could with it. We will see I guess. I made it as deep as I could. I didnt want it to be flush with the deck that way I can hopefully put a grill over it. If I have to take it out once in awhile it'll be no big deal too.

I was referring to goldenfri's post. Also, I'm not sure which is better acoustically- a curved inside or not.

You can tune an enclosure to think its bigger by using some fiber fill in the enclosure.

Not to whore it up, but talk to John (DarkKnight) he has a GB on sub enclosure and they are crazy prices. He is also making enclosures for your sub if needed.
