In that case, you need springs with a more aggressive drop. Bumpstops have nothing to do with your ride height; their job is to keep the piston rod from crashing into the bottom of the shock body.

I understand this, but everyone I've talked to that has done this has had the fender sitting just above the tire, as opposed to two fingers that I have now, so I figured it's worth a try.
mine its about a two finger gap, and i did cut the bumpstops when i installed them. what some people told was to cut one coil from the bottom of the spring, i rode on one and it was almost the same ride. it puts the tire right at the fender you barely fit one finger...
