Be glad you were driving, a normal driver would not have fared so well

I think the reaction and thought process was from learning on the track. It was like a quick 1,2,3. Stop, think and do it. All in the timing.

They left a message the truck is ready, so tomorrow AM will be fun. I think I will have my wife walk in with me. I didn't tell her until she got home tonight and she was ..... It will be fun.

Who doesn't put a part back where it was when the dirt, or whatever, makes it obvious where it was?

if you bad in working on cars DON'T DO IT otherwise you'll get someone killed! How hard is it to understand?!
Probably because the faster they work, the more money they get... : /
Still, mechanics should be held accountable for their work.

Glad to hear you're alive and well. I certainly don't envy your experience. Have you gone back to the shop yet?

Yes, I picked it up this AM. He was extremely apologetic and acknowledged it was their fault. But really, it is a GM fault. The clamps I thought they screwed up are actually crimped on from the factory. The hose slipped when they pulled the calipers. It slipped the opposite direction from what would have happened if they failed to support it properly. It could have happened to me, except I couldn't get the caliper bolts off.

He has always done great work, for minimal cost, so I do accept his apology. Had I been killed, or injured, that apology wouldn't be worth squat. He has always put my car on a lift and done all of my track tech inspections for free. (His brother did my brakes)

I still am getting a little twitch when I think about it, but I definitely think driving at track speeds makes one able to react to things like this as if it were happening in slow motion.

I just thank God nothing happened and will be replacing those strange emergency brakes ASAP.
