Ticket BS
I hate to state the obvious, but get in the practice of using your turn signal
Even if there is no one around (except a cop behind you).
One more thing, if you decide to go to court make sure you DON'T say to the Judge "There was no one around... There were other drivers that didn't use their turn signal" He/she may just use you as an example
Good luck with this.

In my 4 years time at GMU I had plenty of run-ins with the campus police. They are officially Fairfax County police who are stationed at that little building behind the aquatic center. My freshman year they arrested 3 of my floormates. Who were taken to the detention center at the courthouse by Red Hot and Blue......hmmmmm BBQ!
P.S.-Those cops also love to hang out around Patriot circle to give people speeding tickets and failure to stop at a stop sign tickets.

I paid my failure to stop at the stop sign ticket. The officer did show up for my speeding ticket. They hand out 100X more tickets for running stop signs than speeding. Just go slow around Patriot Circle. The Mason cops have a chip on their shoulder when it comes to college kids simply because we don't believe they are real cops. Their badge does say Fairfax County and I learned the hard way.
They are helpful and respectful if you have a problem. My old car that I had when I was at Mason was keyed and vandalized and the cops were very helpful. I used a callbox and they showed up quickly and filled out a report, which I needed to submit to insurance. They took pictures and obviously gave me a case number incase they caught someone. The officer followed up with me twice over the next week or so to inform me of other auto vandalisms to see if the other people's info matched mine. They stopped someone who was lingering around my car the day after it happened, but they didn't fit the description that I gave the officer.
There is a difference between campus security and campus police. The security guys are employed by GMU Housing and mostly deal with the residence halls. Campus security people are real jerks, but they don't have cars with lights so you won't have to worry about them if you are driving.
