Ticking noise from Engine
I've heard that it is also possible that a bad/worn timing chain tensioner can cause a weird "ticking" type sound. Although this scenario has also been described as sounding almost like some flapping playing cards...
I looked at the valve adjustment diy and i dont think I have the guts to do it myself. I have replaced things like plugs, brakes, suspension but never opened an engine.
Is there anybody nice enough to help me do it? Or if someone else needs it, we can do it at the same time.
If not do you guys know of any good workshop around Arlington or Alexandria?

we had one car that had worn timing chain and it was much louder than ticking noise

is it possible that it would make more or less sound depending on how worn it is?
I'm just asking because I'm thinking of my own car...

I doubt it's that extreme, but you could possibly need a valve adjustment. Btw, what is "vtech?" A college? My S2000 has VTEC.

your valves are out of adjustment thats all it is, i am a honda tech and deal with this shit all the time. its not hard to diy. just take it to the dealership.

Don't take it to a dealership.
How can you prove they did anything?
Also, if you take it to a dealership, they will only adjust to within specs. If you're going to pay for an adjustment, might as well have someone put them at minimum specs to gain a wee-bit o' power. I can't be sure off the top of my head, but I believe the intakes are .010-.012 and exhaust is .008?
Speaking of this, it has been determined that my problem is the cam tensioner. I have since bought a replacement and I wanted Peter's shop to do it. Can someone PM me his shop number please?
Thanks!
Andrew
