Well, I have had this problem with a Local Merchants tire. I just threw my lo-pro jack with me and they did all the work. And my all season/winter tires choice is Goodyear Eagle F1 All Seasons. They were great. the only complaint was the sidewalls seemed week. but only when i took the on ramp at over 50mph
I've had teh Eagle F1 all seasons with the carbon fiber sidewalls...

not sure how YOU drive, but i've never had a problem hahaha....They aren't summer's by any means and can't compare them to that... but they did well year round..

Also, OP........not too sure on 16's... cuz i dont know the actual size of the rims...

but the Ap2 rims which are 17's, they came with 215 front and 245 rear

if anything i would only assume either.. Get ap2 rims and go that route.. "which the car is pretty much made with" or go wider in your tire setup..

I had ap1's on my car and believe me.. the car did NOT like them...

Once I get a little more moneys, I plan to get some AP2 rims + raise my car a little so I can actually go into peoples driveways =D

HMFIC, how much did you get your AP2's for?

Danabis, are those wheels you picked up oem just without the caps or replicas as in someone else made rims that look like the originals?

Made by another company but exactly identical. They have a store front on eBay and there is a thread on it in the wheels/tire forum. They are about half the price of official honda ones and just as cheap as most 2nd hand sellers. There are a few pics on that thread. If I had pics I would show ya. Same certs and material just not done by Honda. Some people are weird on that but I did my research before putting down the cash.

Not sure the weather in your area but in the past few years I can count on one hand how many times it snowed and regardless of tire our cars suck in snow. Rain, treadwear, performance and price is my main concern with DD tires and for the money these won't disapoint.

Highly recommend you read up in the Wheel & Tire forum before making any decisions on tires to buy -- especially when it comes to size.

The AP1 rims -- even though the S0-2 tires they came with were marked 205-55-16 / 225-50-16 actually have the equivalent tire width closer to 215s and 245s.

In particular, you should read this thread: https://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=48572

Jim@Tirerack who frequents the Wheel & Tire board can also make recommendations on tires for your particular setup. If you're looking for summer tires (which you may not be since you say you want to drive the car in winter) -- I really like the Dunlop Direzza Z1 Star Specs -- not sure if they are available in AP1 sizes or not, but they are great tires for the price imho.

BTW- I also recommend PTuning for mounting / balancing tires done right.

I'm currently running Bridgestone Re960as tires in original Ap1 tire sizes. As you would expect, they don't grip as well as a dedicated summer performance tire, but they did just fine for the mountain runs I made this weekend. They are not as wide as the 245/45/16 Hankooks I had on the rear before, but the car still handles well. I wouldn't take them on a trackday though, and they would probably make a lot more noise than grip on an autocross course. They are also rated much higher by the folks at the tirerack than the Khumo asx.
