Default tire fix?

I'm wondering if anyone could recommend me a reputable tire shop to go to, to have my tire plugged/patched where they will not scrape up my rim. I live by Andrews afb, MD.

Anthony, if the tire is only being plugged, the rim is never in any danger... unless they drop it. Plugs should only be for temporary use though. If the tread depth is still good on the tire and the hole is not in the sidewall or close to it, you can have them dismount the tire and patch from the inside. It is at that point that you may have concerns.

I can't remember what rims/tires/sizes you're running. The lower the profile or stiffer the sidewall, the harder it is to mount.

Misinformation is the devil.

I've had to use plugs before. They're easy and a quick fix. For safety purposes, it should be noted that they are FOR TEMPORARY USE. My insistence is not to shoot you down- it's for safety reasons.

But u have to remember, i never said it was a perm fix.

I was just offering him free service to patch his tire if he needed it.

It is recommended the best way to PATCH a tire is from the inside.

But you are correct.

Patches are only temp solutions till you have cash for a tire.

but anyways skip.

go away. :]
