Some people in the UK have been welding in a 1-1.5" stainless bypass pipe in the exhaust. It's cheap and seems like it sounds good, so I'm gonna have it done and see how it sounds.

Anyone want to recommend an exhaust shop or person in Northern Virginia who will do this for me?

Not yet. Haven't had any time. Probably will get my state inspection taken care of and then do it later this month.
