With the state and county budgets millions of dollars in deficit, they aren't letting people off as "complied with the law" no where near as much as they used to. Especially if this is your 3rd, you may not get off. Unless the other 2 had been dropped and aren't in your record. I was down this road last month, but it was a county cop, and I asked him if i remove it will be be dismissed, he was like doubtful. But either way I had no intention of taking it off, so I just prepayed it and hept my tint. So, if you like your tint I say you just prepay it and keep it.
I'm starting to think pre-paying is the way to go as well. I do like my tint but it's not worth the attention or risk of another $91 fine+court fee. Plus if I'm giving them an excuse to pull me over, next time I may get a second ticket for something else, like a driver's license that just expired or a an inspection sticker 2 days overdue. I drive within reason and legal limits as often as I can. I don't get pulled over for speeding or traffic violations because I always drive legally....I'm done getting pulled over for silly equipment infractions...it makes me feel like I'm not the good upstanding citizen that I am.

Most of the time, during the last week(or 10 days) of the month, you will be pulled over for any possible reason, it's just the way it is, deal with it!!

pay the fine and accept it as a luxury tax. $61 a year isn't bad considering you know what you're doing is against the law and you want to keep it on.

it ends up being $115 with court costs (which are charged even if you don't go to court )

is it possible for the judge to issue a fix-it order? in other words, ordering the defendant to remove the tint and provide proof?
