What kind of food is preferable? I mean being on the coast makes for a ton of seafood joints but it all comes down to what you looking for.

Don't know what your bank is, but here are some of my favorites:
-Terrapin: kind of a Top Chef feel, very nice atmosphere and excellent menu. May be a bit pricey, but well worth it. One of my all time favorites.
-Eurasia: like the name, it's a European / Asian fusion type of place using a lot of locally grown ingredients. Their Gouda infused take on shrimp and grits is awesome.
-Steinhilber's: Great seafood place in a nice setting.
-Zia Marie: fantastic local Italian spot in Chic's beach.
-Aldo's: Another great Italian spot... a little more pricey though.
-The Cellars: good American cuisine, awesome location in the middle of a neighborhood in a classic old mansion.

The above are all Virginia Beach spots, and are all outside the chain restaurant fold that you can get anywhere. I highly recommend any on this list.

Norfolk:
Cogan's - most delicious pizza place ever, lots of beer on tap too (21st and Holly or something?)
La Herradura - delicious Mexican right next to Constant Center
Azar's - delicious Greek near Colley/21st
Dog 'n Burger - great burger/hotdog place

I second Cogans and Azars in Norfolk as well. The places I posted up in my reply are more in the sit down, have some wine and stay awhile categories. Cogans and Azars are more casual. Not sure what dining experience you're looking for though.

Of you're on a budget, wendys mcdonalds and burger king.

Other than that anything at the town center off independence is good. They also tend to have a plethora of good looking white females especially at keagans.

Ah... perfect ......

I've got to add Frankies's Ribs in Kempsville, Rudy's, Captain Georges in Pungo, Sea Crest also in Pungo, maybe Isle of Capri at the beach (seems I still love my Capri) and Sullivan's Wharf (they have all you get eat King Crab on Wed for $13.95)

I'm a fan of Frankie's and Captain George's as well. Admittedly, I'm somewhat of a foodie though, and when my wife and I go out for dinner (which is less often now that we have a kid) we generally like to go somewhere nice. Not to knock chain restaurants (growing up, I thought Outback was as nice as it got, lol), but I almost never go to them anymore. I could have gone on and on with different suggestions of local spots (I left off Cobalt, Fire & Vine, Burton's, Lynnhaven Fish House and several others) but if you give me an idea of how much you want to spend and what type of food you like I can narrow it down a bit more.
