That's totally fine. Grab some cold beers and just chill in the meantime. I can host it at my place but I don't have any tools so u all need to bring everything. Ill just provide the beers and barbeque. Also water for those to wash their cars. I also don't have a garage. I turned mine into a theatre
count me in too come hang out..

Having this helps:

You also need simple tools to remove the spark plug and valve covers. Replacing spark plugs at the same time wouldn't be a bad idea either.

You could speed things up by removing the valve cover while the engine cools. You could also do a compression and/or leak down check while the engine is cooling.

Guys, if you track your car you need a valve adjustment. My engine failure may have been caused by the valves being so far out of adjustment. I bought the special adjustment tool Skip linked too above last week for a valve adjustment this week (missed it by that much!) The tool is sitting there on the bench, mocking me

If you're going to track your car on a regular basis watch how the adjustment is done, it's not that difficult, so you can do it yourself in the future.

Oh oh...what happened Bill, I know how it feels though because I went through it almost 2 years ago. A painfull PT, Chiro and Accupuncture for 6 months later made the pain go away.

Anyway I'm game for a valve adjustment meet .
Sciatica due to a slipped disc @ L5/S1 which is getting better but compounded by what's called Piriformis Syndrome, basically a small muscle in my hip putting even more pressure on my Sciatic Nerve... a lot of pain down the back of my leg. It's getting better but slowly.

I can't do a leakdown, but I can do a compression check, especially if the plugs are gonna get pulled/replaced anyways.

I'll vouch for Skip (and injured Bill too).

Maybe you all could set up a valve adjustment group buy day?

Ben Schaefer, the guy that's doing my engine work, suggests going on the loose end of the valve specs for track or race Hondas. He also said some racers adjust their valves every other race.

That is interesting, Rob. Thanks for sharing. I'm going to talk with the H1 guys and see if that's what they're doing, too.
