Default Very pleased with this weekend's projects...

[THREAD EDIT - Updated this on-going thread w/ new projects with posts beginning on 7/13/09]

Wow! What a great day we were blessed with today! Well, I've been a busy boy with The Bruised Banana this weekend . Among my projects:

- Installed hardtop striker plates
- Re-wired TomTom
- Replaced fog lights
- Swapped CAI air filter
- Installed Clear USDMs (with hand-painted yellow, single reflector stripes)

...and the Biggie...

- Installed LEDs around the HIDs for my own 'Angel Eyes' look

Washed The Bruised Banana this morning and then went out for a couple hours of back road 'attitude adjustment' time. Funny, when taking the first pics...back in hicksville / nowheresville...a State Trooper slowed down to a near crawl. And although I kept to taking pictures, I was like "Great...what now..." . But I guess after he got his eyeful, he was content to roll on .

Just point-n-shoots with my G2, nothing fancy. Sorry about the condition of my clear headlamp covers in the 'dark' shots...that's the testimony of 187K miles. With all its front-end road-rash, I'm the first one that would say The Bruised Banana is prettiest...when you step at least 20 feet away . Anyway, here's some pics .

That's actually pretty cool. Kind of a different look than angel eyes because it's not all the way around, just some LED's.

for originality.

this is amazing looking. Truly original. How hard is it to do something like that. Did you have to bake the case open?

Yes, baked open the headlamps. Then installed a gel-coated flexible strip of white LEDs along the chrome HID ring. Ran the wiring out of the headlamp assy and tapped into the parking/running lights.

Thanks for the comps

By the way, I don't take full-credit for this idea, but was rather inspired to do my own thing by another member on our boards. s4play has been working on a separate effort where he's running larger, brighter LEDs along the inside bottom of his AP2 headlamps in link below...

Thanks and I'll keep you posted. I want to 'guinea-pig' myself on this for a little while...making sure it stays mounted correctly, lights continuously, etc.

If you're serious, I'll get back to you by the end of this month
