Default Washington Auto Show

I'm going to be heading out to the show on Sunday Dec 28th, just wondering if anyone else is planning on going? I will, of course, take some photos. If there is anything decent to show I'll go ahead and post it, unless someone beats me to the punch.

Thanks. I thought about going this year. But, perhaps next weekend. I would be curious as to your post if it is worth attending. As I already have my "affordable" dream car. One of the "World's Ten Best" according to Car & Driver Magazine.

Is the Ford GT40 there? As the original GT40's were one of the cars that got me interested in motorsports back in the 60's (showing my age)?

I went on opening day. I didn't think it was anything special. A few cool concepts. I just drooled over the '04 S and anyone that was even near it, I pretty much tried to sell them on getting one. I might have scared a couple of folks. No new Corvette or new Ford GT40. They did have an original. I went to the New York Auto Show last year and it blows the DC one away. Oh yeah, I did like the Chrysler 300C. A tank in sedan clothing.

arawok,
Was the '04 S yellow? They've used yellow for the past two years. It always draws a crowd.
We're planning to go today.

Ok so I went today, but I forgot my camera so well...umm...sorry. Other then the fact that there were twice as many people on the second floor then the first it was pretty decent. You get the feeling though that you are just going around to all the dealerships and checking out showrooms, so there is nothing to get the blood pumping. I really liked the Scion though, I'm considering picking one up for a daily. Of course I lusted after the Lamborghini Murceilago (and I'm sorry if I spelled that wrong). Overall it was nice to venture out and see things. Tons of people gathering around the 350 like it was an exotic, and there was an absence of an NSX ( or I just missed it ). The most amusing thing about the whole show was listening to the other people there talk about the cars. It surprises me how many people go to these shows and don't know jack about the cars that they are looking at, and can't even same the names correctly. Anyhow that's my short recap.

Just got back from the Auto show and yup -- no camera here, either...
...but it's worth a trip just to see the humumgous new Convention Center. This building's huge -- it takes up four blocks. We walked forever before we even came to the rooms holding the Auto Show.
Anyway...there is NO NSX which rates a big

from me. Last year they managed to put one on a platform; this year, Acura didn't even bother. Its absence was particularly sad given that this year, Ferrari, Maserati, and Lambo were there.
As I thought, the S2000 was indeed yellow. Rio Yellow Pearl is a bit darker than Spa and a lot more metallic. It really glittered under the lights. There is a bit more elbow room in the interior, but everything else feels the same.
Other highlights: the Cadillac V-12 Cien concept car totally rocks, and Mercedes has a hilarious E55 AMG display where they've thrown chains over the car -- to keep the "beast" under the hood from escaping.

There was no NSX last year either. When I asked one of the Acura reps, they gaffed me off. Needless to say, I won't buy my next NSX from a Washington dealership!

I went yesterday afternoon and like Helios said the new Convention Center is ginormous (that's a cross between gigantic & enormous)! I was impressed as I thought it was several times better than past DC Auto Shows. And like FF2Skip & Helios, I did miss the NSX. The new TL looks very nice.
I felt Acura & Honda were stuffed at the very end of the show and weren't up to par with their displays as in past years. The new S looked great. Not much has changed and the Rio Yellow Pearl is definitely more "sparkily" than the Spa.
I was impressed this year with the display of exotics. They had three Ferrari 360 Modena's there, an Aston Martin, Lamborghini Murci

This was also the first year I can ever remember our friends at the Porsche display letting folks climb in their rides (of course nothing over the tune of $100k).
