Default Weekly Meet?

Just curious if there is any core type of weekly meeting for dinner or something. If there isn't I would love to start something. I live Annapolis but I am totally willing to make a drive to hang out. Shoot me over a IM: tsuchiyapipta

I'd be down for something. I see the SRT4 guys at LEAST once a week at Fairfax corners....would be nice to meet the other S2k owners and its always fun getting the looks when someone sees 20 of our cars lined up.

I got to hang out with a few of these people (sweet J and CrazyCracker) and I think I learned more in a lunch time with them then anywhere else.

There are some of us that hang out all the time as regular ol friends away from s2ki anyways. Come to some of the meets and get to know people and exchange numbers. That's how I met alot of these folks and hang out with them. Wash and wax meet is on the 23rd of this month if you want to meet alot of folks. I think there is close to 30 folks going.

i think a weekly meeting (or even bi-weekly) for some dinner would be kick ass...i have always been involved with euro scene and just sold my audi but we had a weekly meeting for something like the past 5 years and its just a good time to meet people with like minded opinions about cars and just hang out and have good food, beer and just relax.

You should've come to last week's happy hour! It was a blast

What I've noticed is that get-togethers and meets are more successful if they meet the following criteria:

0) Someone just has to step up and try to organize it.
1) Announced early, at least ~2 weeks in advance
2) At the time of announcement, place is set (rather than "where would be a good place for everyone")
3) Have the head post say the place, the time - the first post should also be updated with a list of attendees
4) Location needs to be somewhat friendly toward members who frequent the site regularly... I'd be willing to go to Annapolis but I'm not sure how many others will. Of course, I think a meet of even 4 people is just fine

I think that the wash/wax meet as well as the happy hour met all of the criteria, and they had/will have the best turnouts. It seems like there's always plenty of interest...but the Baltimore/Bowie meets of recent have not been as successful because it wasn't organized in this way.

This past baltimore area meet was not successful because we got 9 inches of rain, not because it was not organized.
