Holy shit. Really?

Maybe I need to raise my prices.
Yes very serious. I couldn't believe it myself. What really scared me off is that they kept stressing the word MINIMUM. So I perceived that as we'll tell you X amount and then charge you Y amount just because. And like Allan said we saved that money buy doing it in my garage. Once again thanks to all that helped me.

I would have had a qualified mechanic look over the car before buying it.

Good luck with the new engine, might as well put a new clutch in at the same time.

Not entirely true. I spun a bearing and I knew 5 months before the engine finally went that it was a ticking time bomb. So if you spun a bearing then by just looking over the car yeah u cannot tell. But the drive is where you would tell. Unless the ticking was so low that only lassie would hear it it would be very audible and would have became progressively worse.

Either way, sorry for your loss.

Ok talked to my mechanic and heres the deal. Rod in cylinder #3 donzo. Also main bearing i believe donzo. So since this is a aluminum block looks like I need a new block. Im not sure of all the technicalities since he called me while i was in the store.

All I really heard was bad block blah blah blah lots of $$$$$ to fix blah blah blah.

Anyone know of a short block for sale??
