Default Wheel Repair

I know some of you took your rims to get repaired (at ye olde tire shoppe or other places).

How long did it typically take and did they remove the tire and put it back on for you or did you need to pay someone like NTB (or whoever) to remove the tire and put it back on after they are done. Also, how much did it cost?

I'm looking to invest some money into the rims I bought to get them back into a good looking shape. All were curb-rashed by the previous owner, the paint is looking a bit shoddy on them and one is bent (but still holds air).

I shipped a pair of bent Cadillac CTS alloy wheels to Detroit Wheel and Tire. They were honest about what they could/could not do, repair was $125, I got them back in one week.

I believe they did a very nice job. They took 4 weeks or so tho' . I didn't mind, I just rolled on my stockers. Price was decent enough. I drove my wheels up to them (because I had 2 sets of Racing Hart C2 3-pc and wanted their advice on the best way to proceed with reconditioning one set of 4 out of the 8). I *will* warn you...if you physically go there you'd think them a hole-in-the-wall place. Wheels and dust *E-V-E-R-Y-W-H-E-R-E*...but they do what they do, and the "look" of the shop is just in my opinion the nature of the beast. They remove the tires from the rims. For my 3-pc Racing Harts, they actually disassembled the rims, reconditioned each part, repaint, centers, re-sealed, etc. They were thorough

I am thinking of going there as well Evan so I'd be curious to find out pricing as well. My Prodrives need to be done if they can...

They quoted me about $40 for some curb rash on one of my 16's. I still haven't given it to them. You really should go in to get a figure from them so they can see the wheels and give you a real number.
