When my wheel bearing went bad (and before I was sure that was the problem) I took it there. They drove it around for an hour and a half, charged me for it, and still had no clue. They thought it was something in the drivetrain.

I took it to a shop in Aberdeen, where they immediately replaced the bearing and hub.

Needless to say I'm not going there again.

^I've heard similiar things. Many people just have bad experiences with performance shops in general.

Hi,

Wow, that's a generous offer. I'm all for learning more about my cars!

So, what would I need to get in advance? I'm fine getting OEM, but if
there are better alternatives for any parts I need to get that are not
wildly more expensive, I'd do that.

The car is driveable, so getting it to a shop really isn't a problem.

New injectors or an injector cleaning will probably clean up that stalling issue, but I can't be sure. Buy NGK platinums which you can find at any auto store and a timing chain tensioner which I recommend whenever I do a valve adjustment. Everything else is just labor.

I hope it's not the injectors! I do use injector cleaner at least once a year.,,

Pour in injector cleaner doesn,t really do anything besides please the mind haha, the bad idle I just fixed on a 2001 was due to 2 injectors flowing slightly under capacity.

Yeah, but I do it anyway, it's not expensive. And keeping the exterior clean
make it run better too!
