Why so many S2Ks?!

Why so many S2Ks?!
I was just in New York, and California about a week ago, and have noticed that there are many more S2Ks in the DC area then anywhere I have been in the country. Anyone have any clue why this is?

No I was in both San Diego and LA and I saw 1 S2k is LA and none in San Diego. And I was going a lot of driving in a new rental camaro. I was thinking I would see a lot more because of the nice weather.
