You can pull out the fuse rather than the battery disconnect....Some of us have stereo set ups that we don't want deleted.

Make sure you get the CEL code before you do anything mentioned above.

I'm quite sure that I had read that someone had reset his CEL without getting the code and the next time the CEL came on it was blinking. Don't think you want that to happen.

So I went at lunch to my mechanic (who is an S2k owner) and on the drive up there the light went off. I described the issue I had to him and he told me I had to go to Honda and they could maybe tell me what's going on.

The bastards at Heritage Honda Service in Towson wanted to charge me $45 to get the CEL code and they weren't even sure that the code would show up since the light was off. Whether they could or could not get the code, they still wanted the $45. Since my mechanic already told me that if the light was off they probably won't be able to get it, I just left and so far everything is okay. I just want to know what the hell is going on!

Like others have said you can stop by autozone and get the code for free, or I have a code reader if you want to go by college park. I don't know about you, but I wouldn't feel comfortable driving the car around unless I knew what the code was.

All the same... What you described above would concern me something silly . I've read a lot of folks posts over the years related to gas cap CELs. Can't remember one that had to describe the car losing power as you described.

Still, glad everything seems to be functioning correctly presently tho'

Is your car mis-firing at all?

i had a CEL and my car was definately missing, and we flowed my STOCK OEM injectors and they are way off as far as matching. We have a lot of matched injectors at the shop, if you have some time you and your CEL is back on, swing by.

If you also have a shop localy that can flow your injectors, you should check it out.

I finally put in some OEM match injectors, CEL went away, no misfires, and car ran SMOOTH.

hope it works out for you man.

good luck

I haven't had any misfires and everything is OEM as far as I know. I've had the car for over a year and I don't think any mods were on there from the original owner...but that's just an assumption.
