Default Worried about her

This morning on my ride into work I was in sixth probably doing about 75 or 80. The car starting slowing down and it was borderline studdering, but still stayed above 50 and the CEL was on. I tried going into fifth to get more power but that didn't work. After a couple of miles I pulled over and shut the car off. I checked the gas cap since I had that issue a few weeks ago with a CEL and it didn't seem loose. I turned the car back on and everything was fine, except the CEL was still on. I stopped for gas (I was at a half, but filled up just in case) and made sure to really push and tighten on the cap, then finished my drive to work.

A couple weeks back I wasn't concerned with the CEL since the cap was loose and it went off about 30-50 miles after I cranked down on it. What do you guys think of this situation???

my CEL has been on for over a month now, you have to get the code pulled and find out what it is, mine is code 1456 (evaporation code) therefore it isnt very important, so its stayin on till it goes in for 50k service

No 1457... 1456 is the gas cap.... On my first emission inspection they told me I had a faulty gas cap but I've never gotten a code and I always tighten it appropriately.

If it was blinking.... "Don't not pass go, do not collect 200$.....Car goes right to the Flatbed!"

GO to autozone, they have the piece to read it for free. If its just the gas cap one, unplug your battery for 30 seconds and see if it comes back on. Always worked for me.
