WTB: AP1 Driver's Side Taillight
How do you find out if your VIN qualifies for it? You guys can put the faded tails on my car and ill drive it to honda and complain....after they fix them I'll put mine back in and you can have yours.
The fade/recall is a swap as I understood it. The tails are sealed (like the headlamps). Its hard plastic...don't think they'd be injecting color/tint into hard molded plastic. Could be wrong
...but again, I believe this is handled as a swap if covered by the recall.

Taillights are not easily opened as w1ngman stated. In fact, many owners have tried to open them to paint-match them and have cracked the housings in the process.
Additionally, I thought it was only MY00 that was included in the recall.

ok so i'd be hosed if i showed up with some faded tails... black, if you ever get the swap done let me know. the crack in mine isn't so severe, but it just kinda nags me. in the meantime i'll just look around for some used non-00 tails. thanks for your help, though!
side note: car got egged last night while sitting at my friend's place in arlington. bad week for my baby...
